Tomorrow night from San Antonio, the PFL will have their first playoff event of the 2023 season. The featherweights and light heavyweights will take center stage as they look to punch their tickets to the finals and one step closer to one million dollars.
In the main event, featherweights Bubba Jenkins (21-6) and Jesus Pinedo (21-6-1) battle it out. Worth noting that Pinedo did slightly miss weight so he will be giving up a portion of his fight purse to Jenkins. However, the bout will still go on as scheduled tomorrow night.
After coming up short in the finals last year, Bubba Jenkins has looked sensational ahead of the 2023 semifinals. He has two big wins over Chris Wade and Sung Bin Jo. He looks like he’s going to be very tough to stop. However, 2022 champion Brendan Loughnane looked like he was going to be tough to stop, but Jesus Pinedo showed the world he meant business.
After losing a close split decision in his first bout of the season, Pinedo took on the 2022 champion. In the shocker of the season, Pinedo scored a first round knockout and knocked Loughnane out of the 2022 playoffs. He guaranteed that there will be a new PFL featherweight champion this season.
PFL Playoffs 1
In addition to the main event, there are three other playoff bouts tomorrow night. Chris Wade (23-9) and Gabriel Braga (11-0) will battle for the other spot in the PFL featherweight finals. Wade is on a mission to finally secure that one million dollar championship while Braga will look to remain perfect in his professional career.
The light heavyweight playoffs are also being featured on tomorrow night’s card. Marthin Hamlet (12-4) and Impa Kasanganay (13-3) kick off the playoff fights tomorrow night while Josh Silveira (11-1) and Ty Flores (13-4) will be featured in the co-main event of the evening.
The full card for tomorrow night can be viewed here but it should be a sensational night with four fighters getting one step closer to one million dollars.
