Writer Manny Randhawa said that “Jacob deGrom had two games in 2019 in which he struck out at least 13 batters while homering in the same contest — he did it on April 3 against the Marlins in Miami (14 strikeouts), and on Aug. 23 against the Braves at Citi Field (13 strikeouts).”

Fangraphs: Writer Dan Szymborski is publishing his annual projection system ZiPS. The latest team in the website, which he detailed over the weekend, was the New York Mets.

ZiPS didn’t like Robinson Cano’s 2019 season, and that is why he is currently projecting to be one of the team’s weakest players next year. On the other hand, the system has bounceback seasons from Edwin Diaz and Jeurys Familia in store.

Additionally, ZiPS if forecasting 43 home runs for Pete Alonso and 31 for Michael Conforto. Also in store are Cy-Young caliber seasons from Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard, which the Mets would surely love. Go take a look to the full projections.
