Have you been dreaming of watching some live baseball? Well, now you can.
Beginning on Tuesday, May 5th, ESPN will be airing six KBO (Korea Baseball Organization) games a week. May 5th is Opening Day in Korea.
The TV schedule only has games for this week, but it’s expected that this will be somewhat of a recurring schedule. ESPN will have some of their regular baseball announcers calling the games remotely. Throughout the week, you can expect to hear the familiar voices of Karl Ravech, Eduardo Perez, Jon Sciambi, Jessica Mendoza, and Kyle Peterson.
But, there’s a catch. Due to the time difference, the games will be live when you are likely asleep. Reruns and playback may be available, but you will have to be a night owl to see the games live.

Most players are native to Korea and other Asian countries, but there are some former MLB players on the rosters. Featured on the Samsung Lions are former Brewers and White Sox infielder Tyler Saladino, while former Phillies outfielder Aaron Altherr plays for the NC Dinos. There are also several other former major-leaguers and minor-leaguers on the different teams. The league has 10 teams spaced throughout different parts of Korea.
This isn’t the MLB action that we would like, but it’s sure a start. It may not be in our country, but it gives baseball fans a fix if they are missing the sport very badly. Hopefully, MLB players will soon be able to report to camps so we can get the 2020 season up and running. The MLB is working on a plan to get regular-season games going as soon as the end of next month.
We’re getting closer and closer every day! Just stay patient!
