Manchester City is coming off another unprecedentedly successful campaign, winning their fourth straight Premier League title. However, the season ended on a bitter note when they lost the FA Cup final to rivals Manchester United.

Despite the success, the blue and white are still looking for more silverware and have a big summer transfer window ahead of them, with critical contributors Bernardo Silva and Ederson expected to leave the club.

Recently, Manchester City was linked to signing a Real Madrid star forward after he praised the reigning Premier League champions.

Rodrygo praises Manchester City

Before the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, Rodrygo praised Manchester City.

“To be honest, we knew they were better,” Rodrygo said of Manchester City.”For me, it’s the best team in the world, the one that plays the best football. I think the toughest opponent is gone, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy now to win the final. With Bayern, it was very difficult, and with Borussia, it will be very difficult as well.”

Rodrygo had 17 goals and seven assists in 47 appearances across all competitions this season for Real Madrid.

Global superstar Kylian Mbappe is set to enter the forward group next season, and his comments about Manchester City suggest that everything seemed to be lining up for the 23-year-old to move to England’s top-flight league.

Despite all the speculations, Rodrygo has shut down the rumors that he wants to leave Real Madrid for Manchester City.

Rodrygo claims to be happy at Real Madrid

“When they asked me if he was going to continue forever, I said yes, but there is no way to know. I still have a contract,” Rodrygo said. “I dream of staying here, and I have the certainty that it will be so. If I can continue all my life, that’s how I will, until they don’t want me.”

With Rodrygo now likely off the potential transfer list, the blue and white will have to look elsewhere for the forward help they desire.
