Manchester City is coming off another successful campaign, lifting their fourth straight Premier League title, making the finals of the FA Cup for the second year in a row, although this time, falling short to Manchester United and advancing to the quarterfinals of the Champions League before being eliminated by eventual winners Real Madrid via penalty kicks.

The blue and white’s offseason is in full swing, and while some of the expected developments have occurred, such as the re-signing of Stefan Ortega, one of the biggest shocks has been the rumors that Erling Haaland could leave the club.

Haaland has had two exceptional seasons since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund, scoring 90 goals across 98 appearances, won the treble, and captured numerous individual accolades, including a pair of Golden Boots.

Despite being committed now, she admitted that she doesn’t know if Haaland will stay with the blue and white for the remainder of his career.

“I don’t know, but I think the Erling Haaland project will last over time, over the next few years. It will also depend on trends in football,” Pimenta said.“In any case, one thing is certain today: Erling Haaland feels at home at Manchester City.”

Haaland is currently under contract with Manchester City until 2027.

Who could potentially replace Haaland?

According to a report from HITC, the blue and white are massive fans of Girona striker Artem Dovbyk.

Dovbyk is coming off a stellar season with the La Liga club, where he scored 24 goals and also picked up eight assists across 36 matches. The 24 tallies were enough to win him the Golden Boot and helped Girona qualify for the Champions League.

Time will tell if the Ukrainian international makes his way to England’s top flight, but should Haaland leave, Dovbyk could be a top target for Pep Guardiola’s squad.
