Breaking down the top 10 quarterbacks going into the 2024 NFL Season! Make sure to drop your thoughts and feedback in the comment section!
No. 10: Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers made Jordan Love one of the NFL’s highest-paid quarterbacks of all time after an incredible first season as a starter. The 2020 first-round draft pick had to wait three years to finally get the starting gig, but he delivered in full last season, tossing for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns. Love has a bright future in the NFL as Green Bay’s next gunslinger.
No. 9: Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Throughout his 15-year NFL career, Matthew Stafford has consistently been one of the league’s most underrated quarterbacks. He played in 15 games last season, leading the Los Angeles Chargers to a 9-6 record behind 3,965 passing yards and 24 touchdowns. The Rams’ offense is loaded with talent, and Stafford still has the arm to air it out and put up big numbers for Sean McVay this season.

No. 8: Brock Purdy, San Fransisco 49ers
Brock Purdy receives more criticism than anyone in the NFL for being a “system quarterback.” But he runs that system to perfection and puts up numbers most quarterbacks dream of. Purdy led the San Fransisco 49ers to a 12-4 record as a starter last season and a Super Bowl appearance after throwing for 4,280 yards and 31 touchdowns. Critics will continue to doubt Purdy, but Mr. Relevant will continue to prove them wrong.
No. 7: Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott was the NFL’s runner-up in MVP voting last season after a career year. He led the Dallas Cowboys to a 12-5 record after throwing for 4,516 yards and a league-high 36 passing touchdowns. Prescott and the Cowboys are entering a season of uncertainty, however, with his contract set to expire in 2025 along with star wideout CeeDee Lamb. This could be a “Last Dance” in Dallas for the ages, or it could be season of regression for Prescott and The Boys.

No. 6: C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
C.J. Stroud established himself as a bonafide superstar during his rookie season. Entering year two, the Houston Texans added another elite weapon to Stroud’s arsenal in Stefon Diggs. The 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year threw for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns as a rookie with a league-best 1.0% interception rate. Stroud is on a meteoric rise to the top and could establish himself as one of the NFL’s few elite quarterbacks this season.
No. 5: Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
At Fanatics Fest in New York City, both Peyton Manning and Tom Brady listed Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert in their list of top-five quarterbacks in the NFL right now. When you get that kind of praise from two of the greatest to ever do it, you know you’re doing something right. With Jim Harbaugh taking over as the Chargers’ new head coach, Herbert’s outlook has never been brighter.
No. 4: Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
The talent around Josh Allen took a hit this offseason, but the quarterback’s own individual talent can never be in question. Allen was once again magical for the Buffalo Bills in 2023-24, throwing for 4,306 yards and 29 touchdowns — his fourth straight season with over 4,000 yards passing. Allen ranked fifth in MVP voting last season and, without Stefon Diggs in the lineup, he could be asked to do more as an individual to will the Bills to success this upcoming season.
No. 3: Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
Sporting a new hairstyle, Joe Burrow is looking to bounce back this season from a 2023-24 campaign that was cut short due to an injury. But the Cincinnati Bengals seem primed to take a leap this year after some key roster-building moves. Prior to last season, Burrow had tossed for over 10,000 passing yards and 70 touchdowns in his two previous seasons combined. When healthy, few quarterbacks in the NFL are better than Joe Cool.
No. 2: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson is the reigning MVP, coming off another stellar campaign as the league’s best dual-threat quarterback. The Baltimore Ravens added more weapons around Jackson this offseason, giving him the potential to have another big-time season. Jackson threw for 3,678 yards and 24 touchdowns last season while adding 821 yards and five additional touchdowns rushing. Few quarterbacks possess the elite skills of the two-time MVP Lamar Jackson.
No. 1: Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes will likely top the list of quarterback power rankings until he retires. Mahomes is still in his prime and coming off another incredible season that culminated in the Kansas City Chiefs winning their third Super Bowl with “Showtime” under center. The six-time Pro Bowl quarterback is the best in the NFL until proven otherwise.
