The MLB season is heating up! Here are our power rankings for the top 10 teams in the MLB entering June. Make sure to drop your thoughts and rankings below in the comment section.
No. 10: Seattle Mariners
Are the Seattle Mariners in first place because they’re good, or is it because the AL West is horrible? Either way, they’re in position to make the playoffs, and they have one of the best rotations in all of baseball. Their bullpen is also nasty, but there’s just one problem: they cannot hit at all. They have the highest strikeout rate in baseball with a .223 average and 96 wRC+, and it seems every hitter they acquire turns out to be a dud. Julio Rodriguez might be able to get hot and get this team back to October, where they can be deadly in a short series.
No. 9: Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins are a weird team; they started the season slow, won 12 in a row, and then proceeded to lose seven straight games after that. They’re 13th in Runs Scored (256) and 14th in Runs Allowed (251), but they’re on pace for almost 90 wins still. Pablo Lopez hasn’t been as good as he was last season, and Royce Lewis has played just one game, so maybe there’s a summer run on the horizon in the Twin Cities.

No. 8: Kansas City Royals
Who would have thought that the Kansas City Royals would be one of the best teams in the American League? They’ve stumbled a bit as of late, but they’re 9th in ERA (3.58) and 4th in Runs Scored (293) as Bobby Witt Jr. and Seth Lugo look like MVP and Cy Young contenders thus far. It’s unclear if they’ll hold this up, but things are looking bright in KC, as this team has the power, speed, and pitching to contend for the division.
No. 7: Atlanta Braves
Without Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuna Jr, the Braves are without their best pitcher and hitter for the remainder of the 2024 season. Their offense has stumbled to 15th in Runs Scored (254), and while they have a strong team ERA (3.54), this looks nothing like the dominant Atlanta teams we’ve become used to seeing over the last few seasons.

No. 6: Milwaukee Brewers
The NL Central-leading Brewers are second in baseball in runs scored (298) while also having the 10th fewest runs allowed in the game. Their offense is electric, and they hold a massive lead in the division, crushing their division rivals multiple times during the first two months of the season.
No. 5: Cleveland Guardians
The Guardians are enjoying a surprisingly great start to the season, sporting an excellent bullpen and a .672 winning percentage at the top of the AL Central. Joe Ramirez is in the middle of a great season, with a .276 batting average, 16 HRs and 57 RBIs. If he continues to play at this level, the Guardians remain a very solid team.

No. 4: Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles have a talented young core of players who continue to show developmental progress. Gunnar Henderson is off to a red-hot start, and their pitching has been tremendous. Expect them to continue gaining steam this season and remaining in the top-5 teams in baseball. The Orioles sit only two games behind the Yankees in the AL East.
No. 3: Los Angeles Dodgers
As long as the Dodgers have a healthy Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts, they’re as dangerous as any team in baseball. Their pitching has been solid for the most part, but their offensive firepower is unbelievable, and they only expect to continue mashing.
No. 2: Philadelphia Phillies
When Bryce Harper is mashing, the Phillies are one of, if not the best, team in baseball. They’re firing on all cylinders and sit at 41-18 on the season. They have a higher win percentage than the Yankees but are in a much weaker division, which pushes them behind just slightly.
No. 1: New York Yankees
The Yankees are 41-19 on the season and are RED HOT, with Aaron Judge looking like his MVP self. Juan Soto has been excellent, and the team’s pitching is unstoppable. Not to mention, they have Gerrit Cole on his way back, the 2023 AL Cy Young Award winner. This is a team trending in the right direction.
