Josh Allen wants to play for the "right team:"
With the New York Giants sitting at the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, the decision to select a quarterback is very much in the air at this point in time.
Rumors have been swirling in regard to the Giants’ connections to Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold and Wyoming’s Josh Allen. All three signal callers are highly-touted coming out of college and are all potential options for New York at No. 2, but one player in specific is keen on taking on the challenge of the big apple.
The Giants have reportedly selected their next head coach… Big changes are coming to the coaching staff and you’re not going to want to miss ANY of them! Sign up to our FREE newsletter to hear the news FIRST.
According to Newsday’s Calvin Watkins, Josh Allen would be more than happy to sit behind Eli Manning before his time to shine arrives.
The Giants have been linked heavily to Rosen, but ruling out Allen would be foolish. The Wyoming star has had a fantastic season, and has been compared to Ben Roethlisberger and others. If the Giants decided to take a flier on Allen, it would begin to detail their strategy for the after-Manning era. Not only would it put Davis Webb in the back-burners, but it would put the wheels in motion for the next franchise quarterback.
There’s no doubt that Allen needs time to develop his skill set, and putting him behind Manning to learn and gather wisdom could be exactly what he needs to become the next big thing.
The big question is: Would Manning be willing to help mentor him?
